I wish I could draw better, and I would offer that, but right now because I don't put enough time into it my drawing isn't very all the time.

Yes, there's a pretty large cast, with some new playable characters and even more NPCs, many of which will be crucial to the story. I hope everyone enjoys the new cast as well as my interpretation of the old CT characters.

would it be possible to see some of the concept art that is being used for the Characters and the NPCs?

Well, we're in the process of reviewing two applicants for the Sketch Artist position, so the answer's not quite the straight "yes" or "no" that it normally would be.
So, we'll have to get back to you on this...

Here's some questions dating back to around 2001...
Will the Epoch be flyable in 1st and 3rd person view? Like, sort of flight simulatorish (or even like unto Skies of Arcadia would work). Also, will weaponry be involved in the Epoch? I suggested a long time ago that there be a point in time when there would be an air based battle. How likely/possible is that for this game?
I had a few other questions/ideas, but it's been so long now that I'd have to do some serious digging to find them all... Anyway, that's just what I'm wondering right now. Mouser X out.

To be honest, I'm not entirely sure what the mechanics of the airship/time machine will be. Though the story dictates there will be one and I've even given it a tentative name, we haven't decided how exactly it'll be used or how it will be flown. We're more-or-less trying to do this chronologically, so it'll be awhile before we get to the flying time machine...

Here's a quickie for you.
First of all, I want you to know that as a huge fan of the original and a disappointed onlooker of chrono cross, this sequel looks like it may just be the ticket, I am hopeful. However, I wish to know...
Will you be keeping the unsightly angle of view, or more importantly is it going to become less unsightly as the engine and the graphics advance?

I'm afraid I'm gonna have to ask you what you mean by the "unsightly angle of view." Are you referring to CT's constant isometric camera angle, CC's prerendered environments, or something different?
And, for the record, we still haven't completely decided how the camera should work.

Here's another question. This may have been asked, but I don't recall noticing it. Will there be any mult-player options? Like, My group vs. Another group? Or Co-op (that'd be AWESOME!)? Anything like unto that? Or is that currently undecided?
Man, I wish I had the old (we're talking at least 4 years ago) boards backed up. I'm sure I could bring all sorts of stuff up from that... Anyway, thanks in advance for any answers. Mouser X over and out.

Multiplayer...? The thought had never crossed my mind. As far as I knew, this was just going to be a single-player RPG like Chrono Trigger. Did this ever come up before, like, before I showed up?

I'm pretty sure that it's come up before. However, I don't recall exactly what was discussed about it. From what I remember, multi-player was unlikely for this game. A few people wanted it, but no plans were in place to implement it. I was just wondering if this might have changed, or not. I'd have to guess that it hasn't changed. I still think multi-player would be awesome (even it there wasn't co-op), but I completely understand if there's no thoughts about including it in the game. As you said, this is pretty much a single player game, like the original CT and CC. So I wasn't really expecting there to be any multi-player anyway. But I do think it would be really cool if there was.
The thing about mult-player though, is that it might require more balancing of powers. I'm sure that everyone here has their favorite CT team that they play the game with (I switch around to help divy out the EXP more evenly, but I use Crono, Magus, and Robo to defeat Lavos). In a single player game, certain characters are likely to get favored over others because of the abilities and powers they have. Being single player, it's not as important to balance out characters, because you don't need to worry about players abusing them to much. In mult-player, you'd have to even things out more. Otherwise, you end up with teams fighting each other using the same characters on both teams because the characters they use are the most favorted of the ones available. An example I can think of (not a good one, mind you) is Kirby in Super Smash Bros. for the N64. I hated the stupid pink thing because you could never knock it off the board. Kirby was the obvious advantage, and if you played as someone else, you very often would lose to Kirby, simply because you couldn't get him off the screen (even at 300% damage!). While I don't expect anything quite like that in this game, I'm using it as an example of why multi-player might not be included for UCT2.
If I dig through my ICQ logs, I might, eventually, find some more stuff that was brought up all those years ago. But don't expect anything soon. I don't even know where my ICQ logs are, anymore... Other than that they're not deleted... Thanks for the response though. Maybe you could suggest multi-player to them? I think it'd be really neat to have it, but I certainly wouldn't expect it. Mouser X over and out.

Hulo, I'm new and i was just wondering what the names of the programs used in creating the PC version. I'm currently looking around for an Engine/Editor program but after 5 of them, none of them were quite the one i was hoping for. Thnx anyway.
