Oh, don't worry, it's still going. I just got out of my summer finals, so I can devote a lot more time to it now. I'm hoping to make some progress in dialogue and revision before fall classes start, not to say that I won't be working on it once they do (it's just that I'll have Calculus 3 and Physics 2, which'll slow things down a bit). As for the story itself, pretty much every detail is solid and finished (between the inside of my head and my Chemistry notes). It's just a matter of the dialogue and making it happen. Sorry, guys, but I can't get into any more detail than that.

I wasn't really expecting you to go into full detail. thanx though, I only asked because for some reason I thought i had read a while ago that the script was finished. good luck on the free time, and enjoy it. ;D

You know, it'd be nice if we'd be given some tidbit of information to actually let us know what's going on with this project. It's been literally years since we've be told anything even slightly new about this. A couple of screens that are now very old, no plot details, no demos, nothing. No offense guys, but unless you show people any sort of progress, you might have a hard time convincing some to stick with this project. I've been floating around here for a good 5 years or so hoping for some small morsel of proof of your advancement, and even I'm starting to lose hope.

it seems then that you haven't really been paying much attention to what has been said. part of the reason that no information is released is because they don't want to run the risk of having Sqaure shut them down like was done with the Chrono Trigger Resurection Project. at least that is what I've gathered by reading others posts.
and also seeing as how this is something that is being done in spare time, can you honestly say that you would do any better?

I can definitely understand where mobius is coming from. I mean, judging from the fact that the main site hasn't been updated since August, it'd be very easy to write off Project UCT2 as "Successor to Duke Nukem Forever."
So, first of all, I'd like to apologize for the lack of activity on this website.
Secondly, I'd like to voice my personal appreciation to everyone who's checked in on the website and these forums despite the lack of updates. We appreciate your support, even if we don't answer your questions as often as you (or even we) would like us to.
Anyway, I've talked to Gangis about this, since I have been concerned about the lack of updates this site has been getting, and we're going to try some initiatives to revitalize this website. This will be a multi-step process, since it'll take a lot of work to rebuild the traffic that this site used to get.
The first step will be to start up a new topic where the people who still visit these forums can come and ask questions about the project, which we will answer individually. Since the storm around Chrono Resurrection is dying down, Gangis and I are starting to get the impression that we may not need to be as tight-lipped about this as we had feared.
After this, we're considering a number of ways to try and revitalize and reconstruct the site. We'll see how that goes and, I promise you, updates will follow.
Everyone, thank you for your support. We'll try to repay that in kind.

Yes, I have been paying attention. There weren't many updates at all even before the concerns about Square, so your point is moot. Also, what does this have to do with my capabilities? I've never claimed to know anything about making a game, or said I could do better, did I? I just thought that it's important for people that are actually waiting for the game to voice their concerns about the project. After all, what good will the game be if no one's around to play it?

I never mentioned your capabilities, it was sort of an example, from what I'd read before the boards went down the last time, if I remember correctly someone had mentioned that this was something being done in spare time... All I was saying is that with time restrictions and what was going on with Square would you be able to do better than what has already been done.
No insult meant.

They're greedy. Actually, I see a couple of problems. Squaresoft (they made CT and CC, so that's what I'm calling them!) doesn't want bad fangames to taint the CT name, so they cancel them. However, if a fangame gets good enough, they don't want competition, so they cancel them. So, really, if there's any middle ground, then it's very, very small... Personally, I think you should make the game with as little publicity as possible (but being sure to keep your team motivated, and the spectators interested). Then, when you're done, release it to a select few, who will upload it to a torrent tracker. Then, a few days later (making sure some copies have already been distrubuted), make a big announcement of it, and host it on the site, advertise, whatever. That way, it gets publicity, it gets distributed, and popularity (hopefully) all before anyone can put a stop to it. By the time the C&D order comes, it's too late. It's already been in distribution for at least a week, probably 2, by then. If done correctly, hundreds (perhaps thousands) of people would already have it. That being said, I honestly hope that the UCT2 team keeps this project under tight raps, but continues to make progress. Updates are appreciated, but possibly dangerous. So, if an update is to come, I say it should be 1 or 2 (possibly old) pictures (if that) and a percentige complete (rounded down, and off by -10, to help keep it low-key). Great work guys. Please continue it, and don't give up! I look forward to the completion of UCT2 (even if I'm 40 when it's done (j/k)). Mouser X over and out
