Talking about faulty PS2s is making me question wether or not I should buy one... I've been wanting to get one for quite some time, but I just don't have that kind of money. Any idea when the price on the PS2 (new or used) will drop to at least $100? I would hope that happens when the PS3 comes out. Prefably less, of course, but $100 is cheaper than it is now. Interestingly, the biggest reason I'm interested in the PSx series at all is becuase of CT. I liked the game so much that when I heard there was a sequal, I went out and bought it as soon as I could. Of course, at the time, I didn't care that I didn't have a PSX. I just wanted the game. Once I got the game, I tried to emulate it on my PC. To say the least, that didn't work (my CPU was to slow, and I had no 3D card. Major problems ensued). So, I started asking around, and I found someone who had just gotten a new PS2 (back when they were 1st released). He told me he'd sell me his old PSX. He sold me the PSX, 2 controllers, 3 memory cards, a serial port gameshark, Final Fantasy Tactics, and Final Fantasy VII all for $55. I couldn't pass that up. Especially since, at that time, FFT was nearly impossible to get. I tried to play it, and didn't get it. So I sold it for $20. Little did I realize that I could have sold it for $50 to the right people... D'oh!! Oh well, that's life. As for me, I got a great deal on a PSX (not the smaller PS1, but the original PSX bulky style). I'm wondering if I could find such a deal next year when the PS3 comes out... I'd be happy to get the PS2, new or used, for $50, with 1 or 2 controllers, and that's it. I almost never use the gameshark, though it is fun to play around with some of the cheats (that I only use after I've beaten the game. That's why I don't use the GS often. I've only beaten 2 games on the PSX. And those would be Megaman Legends 1 and 2). Oh, I already have a PS2 memory card, so I don't need to worry about that. I recently bought some PS2 games in the hopes that having them would convince me to put forth the cash to actually get a PS2 to play them on. So far, it hasn't worked. I did play them on my roomates PS2, while he was here, but he moved out like, a week or 2 after I bought the games. So, now I have 4 PS2 games, and a memory card, sitting there doing nothing. Then again, I also have like, 10-16 GC games doing the same thing. However, the difference is that I own a GC, and don't have the time to play it. Which of course gives me good reason not to be playing my PS2 games (or putting effort into getting a PS2 so that I can play them) since I don't have the time to play them anyway. Okay, that was a long and nearly pointless post. I think it's fairly obvious that it's time for mt to go to bed. Good night everyone, and have a great time! Mouser X over and out.

You mean the cable going from the buttons to the motherboard? One end got completely destroyed (my fault) so I went to Lik-Sang and ordered another one for $7. I have since then bought a FlipTop cover so I won't have to keep the PS2 open for the swap trick anymore. (It's for backups, I swear!!!)
